SONOS Era 100 Wall Mount Installation Guide

Wall mount for the SONOS Era 100 speaker

While the SONOS ecosystem is renowned for its high-end audio, the solutions available to mount their speakers are typically over complicated and expensive. This innovative wall mount enhances your audio setup with its low-profile design, affordability, and straightforward installation process. Unlike alternatives with moving parts that can complicate installation and increase the risk of breakage, our wall mount offers a hassle-free, stylish, and budget-friendly way to elevate your sound system. In this installation guide, we’ll walk you through the simplicity of setting up your SONOS Era 100 Wall Mount, allowing you to enjoy an immersive audio experience without breaking the bank.

Pick and prepare a location

The location will largely depend on your personal preference and how you intend to use the speaker. Regardless of where you mount it SONOS’ Trueplay tuning balances the sound for wherever it’s placed, and whatever you’re listening to. You can find more details regarding placement on SONOS User Guide for the Era 100 here.

The other thing to consider is the wall you are mounting the speaker to. The SONOS ERA 100 Wall Mount comes with drywall anchors and two No. 6 self tapping screws. The screws can used to mount directly to a wall with studs behind it, but if no studs are available the drywall anchors should be used.

  • Start by holding the wall mount up to the wall in the desired location and use a level to make sure its level. Mark both holes with a pencil on the wall.
Level the wall mount and mark the hole locations on the wall
  • If using the drywall anchors use a 3/16″ drill bit to make pilot holes in the drywall at the marked hole locations. Use a hammer to tap the drywall anchors into the wall.

Installing the Mount Without the Spacer Kit

  • Once the wall has been prepped the wall mount should be held up to the mounting location (either up to the holes of the drywall anchors or the markings on the walls if installing into studs) and one No. 6 screw should be driven through the top hole of the wall mount into the wall.
  • Before completely tightening the screw and adding the second one, make sure to route your cabling through the back hole of the wall mount. From here the top screw can be fully tightened and the second screw added and tightened.
Before tightening the screws make sure to add your cabling through the mount hole.

Installing the Mount with the Spacer Kit

An optional spacer kit is available to space the speaker off the wall and/or angle it up and down. These spacers also allow easier access to the buttons and line-in at the back of the speakers.

  • To install the mount choose the spacer you’d like to use for your situation and align it to the holes at the back of the mount.
  • Pass the screws through the holes in both the mount and the spacer and screw it into the anchors in the wall.

Attaching the Speaker

  • Once the wall mount is secured to the wall the speaker should be placed on the mount and aligned to the hole in the bottom surface of the mount.
  • Use the provided M5 screw to secure the speaker to the mount. Before tightening the screw all the way, make sure to adjust the speaker to your desired angle
